Happy Women's History Month! In honor of the women who have made contributions to the film and entertainment industry, we are resharing empowering stories from alumnae interviews, guest speakers and industry leaders who are all female. We hope their stories inspire all people to advance in their careers and create equal opportunities for all to work and thrive in the entertainment industry.

Some would argue that the 2010s was the banner decade for Black filmmaking, but the real foundation happened long before then. There were many influential Black artists throughout the 21st Century who paved the way for people like Jordan Peele and Steve McQueen to excel as filmmakers. As we've become familiar with the last decade of Black filmmakers, it's vital to take a look back in film history at the Black storytellers who started it all.

As we look forward to a brighter 2022, we are excited to have all Los Angeles Film School students return to campus in January. We reflect on the past year through the many milestones we've met, accomplishments achieved, and relationships strengthened. It is because of the tremendous work and dedication of our wonderful school community that we are a leader in entertainment education. From elite degree program rankings to our recording arts alum Phillip Bladh taking home an Oscar for Best Sound, these are the highlights over the past year.
