74th Annual Emmy Winners and Alumni Contributions
We are proud of the contributions made by 60 different alumni who worked on 40 productions with 170 total nominations and 34 wins. A special congrats to Emmy-winning alum John Valerio!
The Creative Arts Emmys took place on September 3 and 4, and film alum John Valerio went home with the prized gold statue. The preliminary awards ceremony honors creative and technical production in the American reality television, documentary and variety series genres.
John Valerio won Outstanding Single-Camera Editing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie as the editor of The White Lotus.
The White Lotus had 18 nominations and 10 wins including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. It was the most wins of any production this year. The show’s Writer/Director/Producer, Mike White, thanked John in a text banner when accepting the Emmy for Best Director, and again verbally when he accepted for Best Writing.
Stranger Things earned 5 wins out of 13 nominations. One of those nominations (Outstanding Production Design) went to Art Director, Sean Brennan (Film 2006). Sean has been the show’s Art Director for all four seasons. Marlon Rivas (ASCA 2015) was a compositor in the VFX Department.
Euphoria earned 6 wins out of 16 nominations. Grad, Josh Bramer (ASF 2010), was the Property Master, and Brad Salo (ASF 2011) was Assistant Property Master. While not credited this year, Philipp Barnett (Film 2003) produced the first season of the show.
