Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer to debut May 1st
May 1st marks the release of the next Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer. /Film reported previously that the new trailer for J.J. Abrams’ hotly anticipated sequel is attached to every screening of Avengers: Age of Ultron that will play in theaters, enabling fans of both franchises to take in a teaser of what’s next for Han Solo and friends. Disney owns both Marvel and Lucasfilm, making this placement ideal for both fans and each studio’s parent company.
Marvel’s The Avengers had a $207.4 million opening weekend domestically and went on to gross over $1.5 billion worldwide, which makes Age of Ultron one of the biggest theatrical platforms of the year with which to launch this new Star Wars trailer. Could it provide our first looks at Harrison Ford and the Original Trilogy trio back in costume? Luckily we don’t have too long to wait to find out.
