San Pedro Waterfront Arts District to Screen The Iron Giant
The San Pedro Waterfront Arts District presents, The Art of Animation, a panel discussion with local animation specialists, Blue Wade, Marymount California University Chair of Arts & Media Division and Professor of Digital Media and Allyson Vought, local licensed Disney artist, followed by a screening of the animated, 1999 film, The Iron Giant. Please join us for the second of a series of San Pedro Waterfront Arts District gatherings, celebrating the various aspects of our diverse arts community.
The Iron Giant will be screened on Thursday May 14th, 7:00pm at the Grand Annex, 434 West 6th Street, San Pedro. Advance Tickets with Reservations are $5 for Adults and $2.50 for students, $7 at the door. The Iron Giant is a 1999 American animated science fiction comedy-drama film using both traditional and computer animation, based on the 1968 novel The Iron Man by Ted Hughes. Directed by Brad Bird and features the voices of Jennifer Aniston, Harry Connick, Jr., Vin Diesel and John Mahoney. The Iron Giant takes place in October 1957, during the height of the Cold War and is about a lonely boy named Hogarth Hughes, who discovers an iron giant who fell from space. With the help of a beatnik artist, they have to stop the U.S. military and a federal agent from finding and destroying the Giant.
