Types of Financial Aid
Financial Aid is available to help students pay for their education. Financial aid includes scholarships, grants, federal and private loans, and work-study. Our financial aid advisers can help you make a plan that suits you.

The Financial Aid Department encourages all applicants who apply for financial aid to begin the process early. Those seeking “federal” financial aid are required to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA may be completed online at www.fafsa.gov. After the FASFA is submitted, the U.S. Department of Education notifies applicants of their results, and our Financial Aid advisors will be available to discuss the available options for funding the selected degree program. Eligibility for Federal Financial Aid Programs requires that a student be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen [Alien Registration Receipt Card (Form I-151) or Permanent Resident Card (Form I-551), commonly known as a green card]. Financial aid is only available to students enrolling in a degree program. Individual course students are not eligible for financial aid. The school reserves the right to decline the certification of any educational loan. For students funding their education with federal financial aid, the financial aid process must be completed prior to the end of the enrollment trial period (first 30 days) for their particular program start date. The Los Angeles Film School has 12 monthly start dates per year. The financial aid process must then be completed again for each subsequent academic year in the student’s program. An academic year is 8 calendar months. Each subsequent academic year starts immediately following the end of the previous academic year and is based on the student’s original start date. For students fully funding their education with means other than federal financial aid (i.e., cash payments, private loans, military benefits, etc), and want to also apply for federal financial aid, the application to apply for federal financial aid may be completed at any time during the course of their program.
Applying for Federal Student Aid
U.S. citizens and eligible non-citizens can apply for federal aid by submitting a Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA. Use the The Los Angeles Film School Code: 040373. This code allows the school school to calculate your eligibility for federal financial aid.
Scholarships and Grants
Scholarships and grants are financial aid towards your tuition costs that do not have to be repaid. They are awarded based on academic merit or demonstrated financial need. View info about our available scholarships.
Federal Work Study
Work Study is available to eligible students who qualify. We advise interested students to meet with our Work Study Coordinator to view available positions. Funding varies depending on annual allocation from Department of Education, as well as on open positions. You can find more info about the Federal Work Study program here.
