Recording Arts, Class of 2014
Entertainment Business, Class of 2015

Peter Munters is a celebrated recording engineer, dialogue mixer, and songwriter, known for his extensive contributions to the entertainment industry. A graduate of The Los Angeles Recording School with degrees in Audio Production (2014) and Entertainment Business (2015), Peter has built a career blending technical expertise with creative artistry. His achievements have earned him numerous Emmy and Golden Award nominations, as well as a Best Sound Mixer win for Lego DC Batman: Family Matters.

With a deep passion for sound, Peter transitioned from performing with rock band Over It to mixing and engineering for major projects. His expertise in dialogue mixing has led to work on high-profile productions, including the 2018 Muppet Babies reboot, The Empty Man (2020), Lego DC Batman: Family Matters (2019), and Close Enough (2020). His journey was shaped by key mentors at The L.A. Recording School, including Andrew Ing and Dr. Guy Langford, whose guidance helped him secure a pivotal internship at Atlas Oceanic Sound and Picture, launching his career in post-production sound.

“Lose yourself completely in the writing process. If you want to be a songwriter, everything that you can know is already out there in the world.”

Peter’s dedication to the craft and relentless pursuit of excellence have cemented his place in the industry. From DreamWorks’ All Hail King Julien to The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show, his work continues to shape the soundscape of animation and film. As we celebrate his induction into the 5th Annual Spotlight Awards, Peter stands as a testament to hard work, talent, and the power of mentorship.
