ASMAC Golden Score Awards
Legendary Disney songwriter, Richard Sherman of The Sherman Brothers (Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book, Aristocats, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) will present the Golden Score Award to (Sin City/Texas Rising) composer John Debney at ASMAC’s 37th annual Golden Score Awards this Thursday, September 17th at The Skirball Cultural Center.
Debney is currently scoring Jon Favreau’s 2016 re-imagining of The Jungle Book, part live-action and part animation, featuring the voices of Scarlett Johansson, Idris Elba, Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley and Christopher Walken.
Paul Broucek, Warner Bros. Music President will present the award to orchestrator/composer Conrad Pope who has worked with many Academy award-winning composers such as John Williams, Alexander Desplat and Randy Newmanon over 1,000 scores for such box-office hits as the Hobbit, Harry Potter, Star Wars and Pirates of the Caribbean Franchise.
This wonderful event is open to the public and is well-attended by film music luminaries with past recipients like Quincy Jones, Henry Mancini, Dave Grusin, and Elmer Bernstein.
