The Grammy Winners from L.A. Film School

Jaycen Joshua (LARS 2003) won Best Engineered Album for Beck's Hyperspace. Jaycen also contributed to GRAMMY-winner Megan Thee Stallion who won for Best New Rap Artist, Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song (Savage).
Jaycen Joshua and Steven Ellison Grammy Nominations
Alumni News & Interviews, FeaturedThis year, we are proud to announce that five alumni worked on seven Grammy-nominated projects in 11 out of the 83 categories. Two of our alumni were personally nominated for Producer of the Year (Steven "Flying Lotus" Ellison) and Best Engineered Album (Jaycen Joshua). This is Jaycen Joshua's tenth Grammy nomination and Steven Ellison's third nomination.
The Best Film Degree Program According to Intelligent.com
Accolades, FeaturedWe are honored to be ranked number 33 out of the 50 best film degree programs in the U.S. The college ranking focuses on undergrad degree programs related to film, television, media and video. Intelligent.com evaluated The L.A. Film School's film production degree program on the basis of flexibility, faculty, course strength, cost and reputation.

So far, 11 alumni from The Los Angeles Film School have had a hand in 6 different productions totaling 10 nominations. Articles, FeaturedIn honor of Black History Month, we're celebrating some of the most influential Black LGBTQ+ artists in the entertainment industry. Their work is inspirational and impactful, not to mention the incredible obstacles they have overcome to be seen for the true artists they are. These individuals are also among the first Black LGBTQ+ artists to win Oscars, Grammys and Golden Globes.
Finding Work in Entertainment During COVID
Alumni News & Interviews, FeaturedOleg is a recent graduate of the Film Production bachelor’s program at The Los Angeles Film School. He scored a camera operation gig with Anaconda Street Productions based in Whittier, CA, and has been working on COVID-compliant production sets ever since. We leaned into our creative nature as educators and relied heavily on technology to stay connected virtually at The Los Angeles Film School and The Los Angeles Recording School, a division of L.A. Film School. Our students and alumni continued to find new ways to collaborate and create in a virtual environment.
