Entertainment Business Student Discusses Goals
We sat down with Entertainment Business student Jamers Honer, and asked him what his goals are in the industry.
What inspired you want to get involved in the entertainment industry?
When I was younger I was on the set of “American Son” starring Nick Cannon. I loved watching how it was all done with the cameras, the jibs and all kinds of things that go into making a movie.
One day I spoke with Nick Cannon and he sent me to the Director. I spoke with the director and he told me to meet them at the next filming place, which was in LA. I didn’t get to start my career then, which was a bummer, but I made sure to surround my self with film, and take classes in high school to further my passion of film.
What are you learning from school that you will apply in your professional life?
How to write properly is the main thing I’ve learned.
What are some of your goals in the industry?
My goal in this industry is to work in film. I want to work on sets of movies or TV shows. Any position, any film that pays me something. Eventually I might be able to use my degree in Entertainment Business to become an Executive Producer of a hit TV show like Workaholics on Comedy Central.
