Film Alum Jonathan Drake’s “Gamer Age” Documentary Feature
Film Alum Jonathan Drake has been working on his feature film documentary Game Age for the past four years, and is now in the running to have it screened at the ArcLight Hollywood this coming October. Gamer Age documents the gaming culture with footage from the opening of The Art of Video Games at the Smithsonian Art Museum, contemporary art gallery shows, concerts by classical and electronic musicians, gaming conventions and competitions, and candid interviews with film directors, street artists, and pioneers of gaming.
Working with only a very small crew of three people including Jonathan, Film Alum Jett Evans and Ian Santer. Jonathan and Ian did a majority of the work on the film with Jett on board as editor. Gamer Age was just recently shown at the Phoenix Art Museum as part of the The Art of Video Games Exhibit and might possibly be screened at the ArcLight Documentary Festival, which is on Oct. 9-13. Their film is being voted on by fans, and currently is in the lead. There are only a few more days left, voting ends July 21, 2013.
