Inside Out Screenwriter Meg LeFauve Shares Tips
Inside Out performed to uproarious applause at the 88th Academy Awards, winning the Oscar for Best Animated Film. Screenwriters Meg LeFauve and Josh Cooley shared their experiences in the industry to inspire newcomers.
Pixar’s Inside Out took home the Oscar for Best Animated Film at the 88th Academy Awards in Hollywood. Meg LeFauve, Josh Cooley and Pete Doctor worked tirelessly to create a story about feelings and the mind through the personification of emotions. Their hard work paid off to glorious results both critically and commercially. As of writing, Inside Out has made over $850 Million at the box office, and is sitting at 98% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.
Inside Out is the story of Riley, a young girl who has moved to San Francisco with her family, and the interplay between her emotions, Joy (Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Anger (Lewis Black), Fear (Bill Hader) and Disgust (Mindy Kaling).
Meg LeFauve also wrote The Good Dinosaur. Released during 2015, this marks the first time that two Pixar films were released in the same calendar year.Working hard on new projects, Meg LeFauve is currently writing the upcoming Marvel feature film, Captain Marvel, with fellow screenwriter Nicole Perlman. The live-action epic will be released in 2019, and casting has not yet been announced. Captain Marvel is being produced by Kevin Feige.
