Celebrating LAFS Alumni and the Golden Globe Nominations
Congratulations to the 17 LAFS alumni who worked on 9 productions nominated for 18 Golden Globes
Update: The 76th Annual Golden Globes aired Sunday, January 6, 2019. Alumnus Derek Cooper (LARS 2012) worked in the editorial department for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel during its first season. The show’s star, actress Rachel Brosnahan, won a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Musical or Comedy. We are so proud of our talented alumni network and their dedication to the craft!
Special recognition to Nicole Kibbler (LAFS 2016) who works as a camera operator for the digital team at Dick Clark Productions. This was her third year working at the Golden Globes!
The 2019 Golden Globe nominations were announced today at the swanky Beverly Hills Hotel. As you may have discerned from the title of this post, 17 of our talented film and recording alumni worked on nominated productions for this year’s Golden Globes. Some highlights include film alumnus Brandon Trost who was the Director of Photography for the pilot episode of the HBO series Barry, and the feature film Can You Ever Forgive Me? starring Melissa McCarthy. Recording Arts alumnus Derek Cooper worked in the Editing Department for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, which picked up three nominations including Best TV Series. We’re proud of our talented alumni and feel honored to share them with the LAFS community. Below are just some of the alumni making strides in film, TV, music, audio and entertainment business. Congratulations on your success in the entertainment industry!
The 76th Golden Globe Awards air on Sunday, January 6, on NBC. Andy Samberg from the popular show Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Grey’s Anatomy star, Sandra Oh, will host this year’s show.
