LAFS Alumni Nominated in the 70th Annual Emmys
A total of 48 LAFS alumni worked on 37 different productions that earned 154 Emmy nominations.
It’s Emmy season! Nominees for the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced on Thursday, July 12. And many of our very own Los Angeles Film School graduates worked on Emmy-nominated shows. Some of TV’s most talked about shows including GLOW, Stranger Things, Westworld and Black-ish were among the nominated productions. Four LAFS alumni were personally nominated for their individual work on Gay of Thrones, Stranger Things, SNL and The Amazing Race.
NBC will host the telecast for this year’s ceremony. The network racked up 78 nominations—only surpassed by Netflix and HBO in the total number of nominated shows. Saturday Night Live fans are in for a treat with Weekend Update co-hosts, Colin Jost and Michael Che, hosting the Emmy Awards on Monday, September 17. Viewers can expect plenty of surprise guest appearances from other cast members from SNL, too. Good luck to all of the Emmy-nominated shows and our Emmy-nominated LAFS alumni!
