LAFS Grads Featured In MTV Video Music Awards
Our grads continue to shake up the entertainment industry, and were featured in the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards
Alumnus Hannah Lux Davis (Film 2006) directed the Arianna Grande music video “Side-to-Side” which was nominated for Best Choreography at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.
This was her 9th VMA nomination, which includes 6 films. She has received at least one nomination in each of the last five years, and won two: Love Me by Lil Wayne for Best Hip-Hop Video for 2013, and Miss Movin’ On by Fifth Harmony for Artist to Watch in 2014.
She is credited with directing over 73 music videos. Check out some of her work here.
Another LAFS alum, Kyle Newacheck (Film 2004), directed the Childish Gambino video, Heartbeat, which was nominated for Best Hip-Hop VMA in 2012. Childish Gambino is also known as
Donald Glover, an accomplished actor who played a character in NBC’s hit TV show, Community, which Kyle has also directed.
