And, as a Vallejo native himself, this will be a special project for Jacory to kickstart what is already looking to be an incredibly promising career.

How did Jacory get here?

Jacory’s journey in the film industry is only in the opening chapter, but his passion for writing and filmmaking has been a constant.

Currently pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Writing for Film & TV at The L.A. Film School, Jacory is fully immersed in the world of filmmaking – developing scripts, honing his craft and learning from industry professionals.

This recognition from the prestigious Variety is proof of the doors that open when hard work, talent and opportunity align—a true inspiration for every student who has ever dreamed of breaking into the industry.

About Vallejo

Set against the backdrop of 1980s Vallejo, California, Vallejo tells the story of young athletes living life in a struggling city, highlighting resilience, camaraderie and the raw pursuit of dreams.

Coodie and Chike, known for jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy, will direct the film, while GTG Studios, known for 38 at the Garden and Two Distant Strangers, will produce it.

“Before I became a World Series champion, I was just another kid from Vallejo trying to survive,” says CC Sabathia. “Vallejo tells the story of me and my friends finding ourselves, making sense of the world around us and trying to avoid the wrong path.”

With a powerhouse creative team, Vallejo is shaping up to be an inspiring and unforgettable film.
