Robbie Krieger of The Doors & Music Lifeboat
Are you a fan of the band, The Doors? If so, check out what happened at our historic Ivar Theatre
On Sunday, June 7th, The Los Angeles Film School proudly hosted an event called Make Noise: The Power of Music and Community. This event was held in our historic Ivar Theatre, and produced in partnership with Music Lifeboat, a non-profit organization supporting the distribution of music education to children from around the world. Co-sponsors of the event included the Midnight Mission and Fender Music Foundation.
To kick off the event, Robbie Krieger, the legendary guitarist from the band, The Doors, spoke about his upbringing as an artist, and how his habit of listening to multiple styles of music, and being a lifelong student helped him become the guitarist for the award-winning band led by Jim Morrison. A listening session featuring several of Krieger’s influences followed, and the conversation ended with a Q&A.
Following the interview, the string quartet from the LA Philharmonic stopped by to play a four act piece. For the grand finale, Robbie was joined once more by the members of the LA Philharmonic to perform “Spanish Caravan” with the chamber group.
Special thanks to everyone who attended this event, and to several of our grads who aided in the excellent production.
