Screenwriter Steven Knight Visits The L.A. Film School

Our screening of Pawn Sacrifice was a massive success! Jeff Goldsmith, producer of The Q&A with Jeff Goldsmith sat down with writer Steven Knight afterward to discuss his creative process. Here are some excerpts from our live-tweets that night:

Steven discussed his writing process when working on Locke, the 2013 film starring Tom Hardy,

“With Locke, we spent 6 days sitting in a room and reading over the script.”

In the creation of Locke, Steven had to be innovative when limited to a car-drive.

“Working on Locke, the struggle was finding the message of the film through the confines of a car.”

Talking about his past, Steven remarked his history in television,

“I Am co-creator of Who Wants to be a Millionaire.”

Knight’s beginnings in the industry were humble. In the beginning, he used simpler methods to write screenplays.

“I started writing using Microsoft Word before using Final Draft.”

Special thanks to everyone who attended the screening!
