“The Road Within” Filmmakers Panel
On Wednesday, April 8, The Los Angeles Film School hosted a screening of The Road Within, a film about a young man with Tourette’s Syndrome learning how to come to terms with several personal tragedies in his life. Following the screening, Leo Quinones hosted a Q&A with the filmmakers behind the project, including:

Director Gren Wells
The group discussed how they overcame production difficulties to bring the film to life.
“Authenticity was of the utmost importance while working on The Road Within.”
Michael Helfant praised his team for their efforts on the film, saying
“Everyone put in 130% when working on the film.”
Gren Wells chimed in, and talked about star Zoe Kravitz
“I was very meticulous in the casting process, and was looking for very specific energy… Zoe Kravitz was just so cool to work with.”
Discussing the tone of the film, and the unique characters it depicts, editor Terel Gibson remarked,
“This movie isn’t about what separates, but what binds us.”
Gren added,
“It was exciting to make a movie featuring characters we don’t often see in film.”
