Digital Filmmaking Events presents the 4th annual 3x3x3 Screenwriters’ Challenge. The challenge is to write an original narrative short screenplay that meets the 3x3x3 requirements found on FilmFreeway.com/DigitalFilmmakingEvents. All LAFS students and alumni are invited to participate. Visit FilmFreeway for more information and how to submit.

Get ready to celebrate the 5th Annual Spotlight Awards on September 12, 2024. Five alumni will be inducted into The Los Angeles Film School Spotlight Academy. Every year the Spotlight Awards ceremony inaugurates a new class into #LAFSSpotlight on the final day of Spotlight Week. These individuals have shown their unyielding commitment to excellence in their professional careers and selfless contributions to our students. We are proud to announce James Cotten, Joshua Gitersonke, Mehrnaz Mohabati, Peter Munters, and Marlon Rivas, as our Spotlight Academy Class of 2024.

No Sleep ‘til Film Fest is a 48-hour global short filmmaking competition hosted by AGBO, the powerhouse independent studio founded and led by the Russo Brothers. Filmmakers from around the world create compelling 3-minute short films within 48 hours, inspired by a unique creative prompt, and judged by AGBO’s creative executives. Winners receive high-level filmmaking prizes and gain access to the AGBO Storytellers Collective, receiving mentorship and resources from the studio. Since its launch in 2021, this virtual festival has garnered over 2000 submissions from 60+ countries.

Real to Reel is an extraordinary film festival in Los Angeles showcasing the incredible talents of young filmmakers from diverse backgrounds. Presented by Better Youth, our festival is a vibrant celebration of creativity and a platform for youth empowerment through showing their talents on the big screen.
Join us in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month on Monday, 10/7 in the B2 Lobby from 12:00 - 1:00pm PT. We will be playing Lotería, the traditional Mexican game of chance! Enjoy lively music, while learning how to dance Salsa and Bachata. Plus delicious snacks and amazing prizes!
