This is your moment!  It’s a brand new year and a brand new opportunity for YOU to showcase your content in the first LARS LIVE of 2022!  This month we are searching for student musical artists, dancers, short films, and animators.  AUDITIONS will be held on ZOOM on Monday the 10th and Wednesday the 12th.  Sign up and we will reach out to schedule your Zoom audition!   

 Due to local L.A. Covid variant restrictions, our January show will be streamed on our social platforms.  ONLINE and ON-GROUND students are encouraged to audition!

January 2022 Virtual Graduation Ceremony

We are excited to announce our Virtual Graduation Ceremony for the January 2022 class! Please join us in celebrating their accomplishment. Graduates, we are so proud and can’t wait to see the incredible things you’ll do!

Honoring Dr. King’s Legacy

We’re hosting a virtual screening of a movie about the civil rights movement, followed by an open forum for discussion, where we’ll chat about the movie, and you’ll have the opportunity to showcase any work that’s inspired by the legacy of Dr. King.

If you attend the event you’ll be entered into a raffle to win a $50 gift card to Hulu, winner must be present to receive prize.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day

At The Los Angeles Film School, we observe MLK Day as an official day off for students, staff and faculty. This is your time for reflection and service. If you are able to lend a hand to the community, there are great service organizations that need your participation this MLK Day. Read more on our blog.

Veteran Convos: Motivation and Goal Setting

The next Veteran Convos will be held on Tuesday, January 18th, 2022, at 12:00 P.M. Pacific Time (US and Canada). During January's Veteran Convos, we will be discussing motivation and goal setting. Therapist, Randy Brown, will join us to assist and answer any questions that students may have. Students will have the opportunity to engage in discussions and connect with their peers.

LAFS Theatre Rewind: EB Presents | A Conversation with Jacques Thelemaque

Jacques Thelemaque is an American screenwriter and director best known as the president of the Los Angeles film collective Filmmakers Alliance. He previously served on the board of directors for The Los Angeles Independent Film Festival (now Film Independent's Los Angeles Film Festival) and currently sits on the advisory board of the IFP Emerging Filmmaker Labs as well as the boards of the Downtown Film Festival and the Ashland Independent Film Festival.

February LARS Live Auditions

Audition for the February LARS LIVE! 

 
What is LARS Live?  

Each month we host a show showcasing student performers and content creators, a show for students, produced by students!      

Shows will stream on the school’s Facebook Live, YouTube Live, and Twitch platforms.    

How To Audition!  

Auditions will be held on ZOOM on Monday, Feb 7th and Wednesday Feb 9th.   

To audition, sign up for a time slot:

When you audition, you’ll log in at the assigned time and will have a chance to meet our producing team and show off your talent (music, film, animation, etc).  Since it’s on Zoom just make sure we can see you and hear you so we can get to know you!
