Topics include intellectual property rights, copyright registration and licensing. Students will also learn how to manage songwriter agreements and performance rights for record labels. Upon completion of this course, students gain a better understanding of the legal workings of the music industry.
Music Production for Media
Pair music with narratives for a variety of interactive media. Students focus on the creation and production of music for film, television and advertising Topics include recording industry workflow, conventions of spotting and scoring for motion picture, and music production techniques used in marketing and advertisement for traditional and online environment.
